teresa of avila

“God calls us to tasks beyond those we think we can perform, tasks leading to a renewal of society in love, tasks leading to serving others in pain or crisis. And in listening for and responding to this seemingly superhuman challenge, we also find ourselves guided away from debilitating physical and psychological weaknesses….When she heeded that interior voice, rather than her physical distress, she was so sufficiently energized that she has left a great legacy.”

I’m writing a history paper on Teresa of Avila. I’m finding constant parallels between her life and mine. She suffered physical pain and illness yet accomplished many things. I’m fascinated and love learning more about her life.

For those of you that subscribe to this blog, sorry you’re getting so many update emails. 🙂 Inspiration strikes at random times. And sometimes, all at once. 🙂
